2025 Budget: Details Show 10 Ministries Will Get Over N1 Trillion Each

Details of the recent budget proposal submitted by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly, have show that 10 ministries and agencies will be getting over N1 trillion as appropriation.

President Tinubu on Wednesday had presented a budget of N49.7 trillion budget during a joint session of the National Assembly for passage. The budget has already passed its second reading.

Below is the breakdown of 10 ministries and the amount each ministry would be getting as their appropriations for the year 2025.

1. Ministry of Health

For the Ministry of Health, there is a proposal of N1.91 trillion for the 2025 appropriation bill which has been submitted to the National Assembly.

2. Ministry of Interior

The Ministry of Interior has proposed N1.13 trillion, an 84.81% increase from the N461 billion it got in the 2024 budget.

3. Ministry of Defence

The appropriation for the Ministry of Defence is pegged at N2.92 trillion, showing an increase of N1.34 trillion or 84.81 per cent from last year’s budget.

4. Ministry of Finance

The Finance Ministry is set to receive N17.52 trillion which majority of it goes to payment of salaries of workers. This 2025 budget for the ministry is an 87.78% increase or N8.19 trillion from the N9.33tn allocated in 2024.

5. Ministry of Power

The Ministry of power has budgeted N1.14 trillion for 2025, a 510.46% increase to N2.1tn from the N344 billion it got in 2024.

7. Ministry of Budget and Economic planning

This Budget and Planning Ministry has proposed N6.78 trillion, a 52.35% increase from what the ministry got in the past year.

8. Ministry of Niger Delta

Niger Delta ministry received an appropriation of N2.23 trillion.

9. Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education received N2.52 trillion as it 2025 appropriation.

10. Ministry of Police Affairs
