Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, following the death of the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Makinde described Oluwatuyi’s passing as both painful and shocking.

He expressed sympathy to the Ondo State Government, the family of the deceased, and the people of Ondo State, offering prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Makinde said, “I commiserate with Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the unfortunate death of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi. I equally express my condolences to the state government, the family of the deceased, and the people of Ondo State.”

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu extended his condolences to Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo State Government, and the people of the state, describing the death of Oluwatuyi as a great loss.

Sanwo-Olu hailed the late Oluwatuyi as a dedicated and hardworking public servant, noting that his service to the people of Ondo State was marked by deep passion and commitment.

He also recalled the late Oluwatuyi’s previous role as Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area and as SSG to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

“The late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi was a patriot who gave his all to the service of Ondo State and its people. His contributions to the development of the state will not be forgotten,” Sanwo-Olu said.

The Lagos Governor further prayed for the peaceful repose of Oluwatuyi’s soul and for God’s strength to support Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo State Government, the deceased’s family, and the entire people of Ondo State in this difficult time.

Oluwatuyi, who was involved in a road accident along the Ife-Ibadan Road on December 19, 2024, succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication.
