Last Friday, I had the honor of being a panelist at the Southwest Youth Summit 3.0 in Osogbo, Osun State. The event, organized by the Southwest Youths Summit group under the leadership of Olumide Fasubaa, brought together distinguished dignitaries, youth organizations, students, and young entrepreneurs.
In my speech, I emphasized the crucial role of sustainability in education, calling for comprehensive teacher training at the primary and secondary levels across Nigeria. I also championed the need for a dependable power supply through solar energy, as well as the provision of essential resources like internet access and computers. These initiatives, I believe, will enhance the learning experience, making education more accessible and preparing us to compete on the global stage in this rapidly advancing technological era.
I also shared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s vision, urging other Southwest states to follow his example in establishing tech hubs at university levels. This will promote innovation, drive progress, and address the technological needs of schools at all educational levels.
The summit was attended by prominent figures, including Hon. Olagunju, Commissioner for Youth Development; Hon. Abiola Awoyeye, Member of the Osun State House of Assembly; and Hon. Dr. Abolarin Kasope Ajibade, Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on SDG, among others.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of collective efforts and the need to empower the youth to spearhead sustainable development and educational reforms.
