By Thursday, sunny conditions with a few clouds will persist in the North, with isolated thunderstorms expected in Taraba in the afternoon.

The North-Central region will have similar weather, with later thunderstorms over Benue, Kwara, and Kogi.

The South will continue to see a mix of cloudiness and sunshine, with possible morning thunderstorms in Cross River, Rivers, Lagos, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom, and isolated thunderstorms later in parts of Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Edo, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers.

NiMet advised residents to stay hydrated, remain in cool, ventilated spaces, and take precautions against heat stress.

The agency also recommended vaccinations against meningitis, good hygiene practices, and avoiding crowded spaces.

To minimize sun exposure, people should avoid peak hours (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), and take precautions against strong winds that may accompany thunderstorms.

Airline operators were urged to obtain airport-specific weather reports for flight planning.

NiMet encouraged the public to stay informed through its website: www.nimet.gov.ng.
