Benue Defenders, an independent security network has exposed plots by some Abuja-based Benue politicians to create tension in Abuja and Benue state next week.
According to the group in a press statement made available to journalists this afternoon by the Public Relations Officer of the security network, Comrade Sunday Akor, one Mr. Michael Msuaan and Honourable Chris Tarkaa who are loyalists of Senator George Akume are behind the protests which will be held in Abuja and Benue state simultaneously.
Benue Defenders pressed further that both sponsors of the protest in conjunction with a former Publicly Secretary of the Benue State Chapter of All Progressive Congress, Mr. Dan-Morgan have recruited fighters from Cameroun and Ghana into Benue state and Abuja.
The statement reads in parts: “The plot is to kill scores of innocent Benue people. They have also been paid with several millions of Naira to kill innocent people in Abuja over an issue that is happening in Benue state.
“Is Benue state the only state where Fulani herders are killing? This is a general issue affecting the entire Nigeria and several parts of West Africa so why are they talking too much about the ones in Benue state.
“Michael Msuaan and Chris Tarkaa have colluded with Dan-Morgan and they have printed thousands of vests, placards and flyers with which they want to do the bloody protests both in Abuja and Benue state.
“These men are not lovers of Benue people. They are only after the leadership crisis between Governor Alia and their leader, SGF George Akume, and nothing more. They are behind all the organized killings across Benue state and we urge security agencies to put them on watchlist”
Benue Defenders however called on the DSS and all other relevant security agencies to stop any form of protest that has to do with Benue state in Abuja so that innocent people wont be killed in their cold blood all in the name of local politics.
The group also urged security agencies to stop further protests in Benue state since they are only organized to kill people with the thugs they have imported into the state.
Finally, the group called on President Bola Tinubu to check the activities of his SGF and other appointees from Benue state so that they won’t make him lose the state to the opposition in 2027.
