Ondo anti-graft agency probes alleged diversion of OSOPADEC shares worth over N800m

The Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crimes, and Anti-Corruption Commission (SPFACC) has launched an investigation into the alleged diversion of shares valued at over N800 million, originally belonging to the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

According to reports gathered on Monday, several individuals—reportedly former board members of OSOPADEC—are under investigation for allegedly converting the shares for personal ownership.

The identities of the suspects have not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.

Confirming the development, SPFACC Secretary, Professor Adewole Adeyeye, stated that the matter is being actively investigated by the commission.

In a separate case, the anti-graft body is also looking into allegations against Mr. Femi Ibikunle, CEO of Okolere Agbe Environmental Hospitality Management.

He is accused of failing to pay over 200 employees their salaries for seven months.

The affected workers, who were deployed as cleaners at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), were reportedly earning N12,000 monthly.

The commission assured that it is taking up the matter and will ensure justice is served, although it refrained from sharing further details to protect the integrity of its investigations.

One of the affected workers, Mrs. Victoria Iyanuoluwapo, told reporters that she had not been paid for seven months and eventually resigned in 2022 due to persistent salary issues. Another worker, Mrs. Olamide Alade, said she quit in 2025 after being owed six months of wages.

She added that despite repeated demands, Mr. Ibikunle insisted he could not pay them.

The workers have since sought the intervention of SPFACC, emphasizing their decision to pursue justice through legal channels rather than resorting to self-help.
