The Kano State Police Command has arrested 18-year-old Saudat Jibril of Farawa Quarters for allegedly killing her husband, Salisu Idris, by slitting his throat with a sharp object.
In a statement released Monday, police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Kiyawa said the incident was promptly responded to by detectives dispatched by the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori.
The victim, 30-year-old Salisu Idris, was taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The suspect is currently in custody at the command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, and will be charged with culpable homicide.
Commissioner Bakori reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance policy toward violence and crime, assuring the public of a thorough investigation.
