The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two fugitives wanted internationally for serious crimes, including human trafficking and armed robbery.
Felix Omoregie, also known as Eghosa Johnson Omoregie, was arrested in Benin City, Edo State.
He is wanted in Belgium, where he was convicted in absentia in 2021 for leading a human trafficking network that exploited young Nigerian women and minors across Europe for sexual purposes.
Belgian authorities had issued an INTERPOL Red Notice for his arrest in December 2023.
According to police, Omoregie used voodoo rituals and psychological manipulation to control his victims, demanding fabricated debts of up to €50,000.
Investigators also found documents indicating he planned to flee to Canada.
In a separate operation, police operatives and INTERPOL arrested 37-year-old Okwudili Sabastine Ezeje in Nsukka, Enugu State.
Ezeje is wanted in the United Arab Emirates for multiple armed robberies, drug trafficking, cultism, and running a criminal network from Nigeria.
He has been linked to high-profile heists in Dubai, including robberies at a grocery store in Dubai Mall, Al Ansari Exchange in Jumeirah, and a Bureau de Change in Jebel Ali Village.
The arrests were made possible through coordinated efforts between the Nigeria Police, INTERPOL, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and Dubai Police. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in court soon.
