The Kano State branch of the Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended five individuals linked to the kidnapping and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Sakina Mamuda, in the Duhunbake area of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Kano State.

According to reports, the suspects abducted the young girl and initially demanded a ransom.

However, they later strangled her and disposed of her body in a well.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Zailani Rabi’u, Hafizu Yusuf Muhd, Abubakar Abdulkarim (also known as Danyaro), Umar Lawan Abdullahi, and Amadu Salisu (also known as Amadi).

Kano State Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Dederi, confirmed the arrests, praising the DSS for swiftly capturing all five suspects within days of the crime.

Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, expressed his condolences to Sakina’s family and the Duhunbake community.

He reassured the public that the state government will continue to collaborate with security agencies to safeguard the lives and property of the people of Kano.
