Nigerian cleric Pastor Kesiena Esiri has expressed concern over the growing influence of social media personalities on the youth, particularly criticizing TikTok content creator Peller.
During a recent sermon, Pastor Esiri addressed his congregation, stating that many young people spend excessive time on Peller’s social media pages—often from morning until night—which he believes is contributing to declining academic performance and poor results in examinations like the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam.
He noted that some youths now see Peller as a role model, despite what the pastor described as questionable behavior. According to him, Peller frequently appears online with a woman he is not married to, engaging in what Esiri called “all kinds of inappropriate behavior.”
“How can they pass JAMB?” Pastor Esiri questioned.
“They can’t pass JAMB when they spend all day on his page.”
