A female official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), identified as Kate Akpabio, was abducted by armed men in Rantya community, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to security and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the kidnapping occurred early Sunday morning around 5:30 a.m. when suspected gunmen stormed her residence and took her to an undisclosed location.

Makama shared the information in a post on X.com, explaining that the attackers gained access to the area before security forces could respond.

“On May 26 at about 5:30 a.m., armed hoodlums invaded the residence in Rantya community and abducted Kate Jonathan Akpabio, a staff member of the FRSC in Jos,” Makama wrote.

He added that army troops and other security agencies were quickly mobilized after receiving the distress call, but the victim had already been taken to an unknown destination by the time they arrived.

The FRSC spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, told our correspondent that the sector commander in Plateau State had yet to provide details on the incident. “I have not received any information from the sector commander.

If I get details, I will share them,” he said.
