The Nigerian Army has graduated 604 Special Forces operatives from the eighth edition of Exercise Restore Hope, a key training programme aimed at strengthening national security.
The six-month training was conducted at the Army’s Military Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State, and focused on both combat and non-combat strategies suited to modern warfare.
Designed to prepare soldiers for current security challenges across Nigeria, the training equipped them with essential skills such as marksmanship, precision targeting, and weapon handling.
At the graduation ceremony on Tuesday, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, represented by Major General Mayirenso Saraso, commended the troops for their discipline and commitment.
Oluyede noted that the personnel were selected from various Army units and will be deployed to strategic locations to enhance military operations.
He praised their performance in areas such as tactical movement, teamwork, and firepower coordination, describing it as exceptional.
He also reaffirmed that Exercise Restore Hope is a continuous, biannual programme embedded in the Army’s calendar to provide advanced, mission-specific training beyond basic soldier preparation.
The Chief of Army Staff stressed that the newly trained Special Forces will boost the combat effectiveness of deployed troops and contribute significantly to ongoing efforts to secure the nation.
