Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, and the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to attend the burial of renowned businessman and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Barau’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, the delegation landed at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madina, at 5:15 a.m. local time.
Dantata, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business and philanthropic sectors, will be buried later today in Madina according to Islamic rites.
Among those in the delegation are Kano APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Senator Muntari Dandutse, who chairs the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND; and the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ali Madaki.
Others include Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, representing Makoda/Dambatta Federal Constituency; Hon. Sani Bala; Usman Kansila; and Ahmad Dantata, son of the deceased.
Dantata passed away at the age of 94. His death was announced on Saturday in a Facebook post by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata,” Junaid wrote.
