The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed claims made in a viral video alleging that ritual killings and the sale of human parts were taking place at Thirty 8 Restaurant on Airport Road, Lagos.

The video, which surfaced online, showed an unidentified woman accusing the eatery of being a “dungeon,” where she claimed people were murdered and their body parts sold.

She also alleged she had once been locked inside the restaurant’s restroom.

In a statement on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, described the allegations as false, stressing that no incriminating evidence was found at the restaurant after investigations ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh.

Hundeyin said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, had conducted a thorough probe and established that the woman’s claims were unfounded.

“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to categorically refute the viral claims as entirely baseless.

Members of the public are advised to disregard the video and desist from spreading such falsehood capable of inciting panic,” the statement read.

The police further disclosed that a manhunt had been launched for the woman and others behind the video, assuring that they would face the full weight of the law once apprehended.

The command also appealed to anyone with credible information about the culprits to come forward, noting that such details would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

Residents were urged to verify information before sharing to curb the spread of misinformation.
