Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who has reportedly been unwell, has been spotted at the O’DA Art Gallery stand during the 1-54 London Art Fair.
A short clip posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday showed Edun alongside two other individuals at the event, marking his first public outing since reports of his illness emerged.
Earlier reports by The Punch indicated that the minister was receiving treatment in Nigeria, a situation later confirmed by Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga.
But a follow-up report by Western Post, cited by The Punch, revealed that Edun had travelled to the United Kingdom for additional medical care.
It was also gathered that the minister would miss this year’s World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., which began on Tuesday, October 14.
In his stead, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, is leading the country’s delegation to the global financial gathering.
