Ondo youths unveil pro-Tinubu campaign group ahead of 2027

A coalition of young citizens in Ondo State has launched a political support movement to drive mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027.

The group, operating under the name Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT), comprises several youth associations and clusters across the state.

Its leaders say the platform was created to coordinate grassroots support and deliver what they described as a “landslide victory” for the president in Ondo State.

Speaking with journalists on Monday, the Director General of the group, Thalis Olonite Apalowo, said the alliance was confident of securing overwhelming youth votes for the president, whom he credited with implementing “bold and transformative” reforms.

According to him, young Nigerians have felt the impact of the Tinubu administration through the removal of fuel subsidies, reforms in the foreign exchange sector and the takeoff of the student loan scheme.

Apalowo added that the administration’s policies had encouraged more young people—particularly in Ondo State—to start small and medium businesses, describing SMEs as the backbone of the economy.

He said the alliance was prepared to mobilise its structures and networks across the state to guarantee the president’s victory.

OYAT is being supported by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who hails from Ondo State.

The group said its activities would focus on youth empowerment and expanding economic opportunities for young residents.

Apalowo commended the minister for what he termed exemplary performance in office, citing the clearance of over 200,000 passport backlogs, the introduction of electronic gates at airports and the establishment of a Data Control Centre, among other reforms under the ministry.

He added that the alliance would hold policy dialogues, reform engagements, town hall summits and community development programmes across Ondo State as part of its mobilisation efforts.
