Two persons lost their lives on Monday in a lone auto crash along the Isara-Remo/Erimobi Bridge axis of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
The fatal accident involved a Suzuki bus with registration number KRD 194 JW, according to reports from the scene.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who said the victims, occupants of the vehicle, died on the spot.
Akinbiyi explained that preliminary investigations pointed to excessive speed, which caused the driver to ram into a stationary, broken-down vehicle on the highway.
He added that the remains of the deceased were evacuated to the State General Hospital, Isara-Remo.
The TRACE spokesperson further disclosed that the accident vehicle was removed from the road and taken to the Isara-Remo Police Station, where investigations are continuing.
