Traditional leaders in Ikare-Akoko, operating under the authority of the Owa Ale of Ikare, the Adimula and paramount ruler of Ikare Kingdom, have declared their support for Senator Jide Ipinsagba’s bid for a second term in the Senate.

The endorsement was made known during a visit by the chiefs to the senator’s country home in Ikare, where they jointly affirmed confidence in his representation of the Ondo North Senatorial District.

Among the traditional figures at the meeting were High Chief Oliku of Iku-land, High Chief Mukaila Bello, the Alaja of Okegbe, High Chief Adebisi Abraham, High Chief Olono of Okegbe and other notable chiefs from across Ikare-Akoko.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the group, High Chief Oliku said the decision to support Ipinsagba was informed by his record in lawmaking, constituency outreach and programmes targeted at youth development, despite prevailing economic difficulties.

He noted that the senator had remained visible and responsive to the needs of the people, adding that his interventions had yielded measurable benefits across communities in Ondo North.

As part of the visit, the Alaja of Okegbe, High Chief Adebisi Abraham, donated a piece of land for the proposed construction of a recreational facility in Akoko, a project being championed by the senator to promote youth engagement and social development.

The chiefs also applauded Ipinsagba’s efforts in agriculture, infrastructure development and other community-based projects, calling on constituents to sustain the momentum by backing his return to the Red Chamber.

In his response, the senator thanked the traditional rulers for the gesture and endorsement, describing it as a renewed mandate to intensify his service to the people of Ondo North.
