The remains of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Lasisi Oluwamayokun, and her daughter, Adesewa, were laid to rest yesterday in Osogbo, Osun State, following their tragic deaths.
The funeral service took place at St John’s Anglican Church, Ita-Olookan, Osogbo, drawing family members, colleagues and sympathisers who came to pay their last respects.
Oluwamayokun, 38, who served with the Ogun State Command of the FRSC, and her daughter went missing on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Their sudden disappearance sparked concern among relatives and colleagues, prompting reports to security agencies.
Investigations led to the arrest of Victor Fajemirokun, identified as the deceased officer’s boyfriend. When paraded by police, the 40-year-old reportedly confessed that he lured Oluwamayokun and her daughter to Osun State, where they were killed with the alleged help of suspected herbalists.
Two other suspects, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, were also apprehended by the Osun State Police Command in connection with the crime.
At the burial, colleagues and friends were visibly emotional, with many struggling to contain their grief as the caskets were lowered.
A family member described the loss as “painful and heartbreaking,” adding that they were still grappling with the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The Osun State Police Command stated that investigations into the matter are ongoing and assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of inquiries.
