The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, identified as Idris Nasiru, for allegedly running an unlicensed medical facility in Ore.

Nasiru was picked up on January 14 following an intelligence-driven raid by the police surveillance team.

The operatives were said to have stormed the makeshift clinic where the suspect was reportedly administering treatment to unsuspecting residents.

Items recovered from the facility included injection packs, drip bags, bandages and other medical materials. Officers later executed a search warrant on his residence, where they found used syringes, expired bottles and additional medical paraphernalia.

The police said preliminary findings showed Nasiru had no medical qualification and had been operating the clinic illegally.

The suspect is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned once investigation is completed.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended his men for the swift operation and stressed that the Command remains committed to tackling quack medical practices across the state.

He described the raid as part of wider efforts to dismantle networks endangering citizens through unregulated health services.

Lawal also acknowledged the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for reforms he said have strengthened intelligence-driven policing and improved crime prevention nationwide.

The Command urged residents to report suspicious activities and be cautious when seeking medical care, warning that quack practitioners pose serious health risks.
