Suspected armed bandits have launched fresh attacks on Jindani and Mai Kaho villages in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, with residents reporting deaths, injuries and abductions.
The attacks were reported in a post shared on X on Friday by a security analyst, Bakatsine, who said the assailants stormed the rural communities late at night.
According to the report, several villagers were caught unawares during the invasion, resulting in casualties and the abduction of some residents.
An elderly woman was said to be among those who lost their lives in the incident.
Bakatsine noted that the victims were civilians and not linked to any armed group, adding that the affected communities are located within a forested corridor that has witnessed recurring violence.
The area, the analyst said, has remained vulnerable to repeated attacks, leading to displacement, growing fear among residents and the continued spread of insecurity across parts of the North-West region.
