The Ondo State Government has declared Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as public holidays to enable residents participate fully in activities marking the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state.
The declaration was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
The approval was given by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as part of arrangements for the Golden Jubilee celebrations, which commemorate five decades of Ondo State’s growth, resilience and collective progress.
The governor urged citizens to take advantage of the holidays to join the anniversary celebrations, reflect on the journey of the state since its creation, and recommit themselves to the shared vision of building a more prosperous and united Ondo State.
He, however, advised providers of essential services to make adequate arrangements to ensure uninterrupted service delivery during the holiday period.
