The Akoko North East Youth Forum has congratulated its members at home and in the diaspora following the successful completion of a football tournament involving the six youth forums in Ondo North Senatorial District.
In a statement jointly signed by its President, Comrade Raji Kazeem Akanji, General Secretary, Comrade Asiru Lukman Olalekan, and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Jayeoba Pelumi, the forum described the competition as a unifying event for youths in the district.
The group noted that the grand finale between Akoko North East’s Babanel FC and Owo FC was fiercely contested, with Babanel FC clinching victory after a penalty shootout.
It stated that the triumph marked a memorable moment for the forum, as supporters turned out in large numbers to cheer the team to victory.
The leadership praised the players for their discipline, resilience and determination, saying their performance brought pride to Akoko North East.
The forum also expressed appreciation to fans and supporters for their encouragement throughout the tournament, noting that their support contributed significantly to the team’s success.
It further commended Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, for sponsoring the tournament, describing the initiative as a platform that fostered unity, peace and stronger ties among youths across the district.
