The Ondo State Police Command has arrested six suspected fraudsters over an alleged miracle scam in Idanre, in a major breakthrough in the fight against religious-themed fraud in the state.

The suspects were apprehended on February 16, 2026, during a joint operation by the Command’s Tactical Teams and Community Safety Officers, following credible intelligence about a syndicate defrauding residents under the guise of spiritual interventions.

Investigations revealed that the suspects posed as pastors and religious leaders, claiming to perform miracles and provide divine solutions to financial and health problems.

They allegedly manipulated the faith and emotions of victims, using fake miracles to swindle money and valuables.

The arrested suspects—Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola, and Ademola—reportedly operated in a structured manner, with each member assigned specific roles to make their scam appear legitimate.

Police said further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the fraud and identify additional accomplices.

All six suspects are in custody and will be charged to court once investigations are complete.

The Ondo State Police Command has urged residents to exercise caution and avoid falling for individuals who exploit religion or promise miracles for financial gain.

Citizens are encouraged to verify claims, report suspicious activities, and refrain from making payments to unverified individuals.

The Command reiterated its commitment to eradicating crime across the state, promising continued intelligence-led operations to safeguard lives and property.
