The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the alleged abduction and killing of a 17-year-old Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidate, Thompson Adams, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
Tijani identified the suspects as Elijah Emmanuel, 23, and Tony Ogenata, 21, noting that they were apprehended on Monday around 8pm following actionable intelligence.
According to the police boss, preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was returning from his examination centre on April 22 when he was lured by the suspects, who were said to be his former schoolmates.
He explained that Adams was taken to their residence, where he was allegedly killed.
The CP further revealed that the suspects subsequently concealed the body in a bag and dumped it at an undisclosed location within the community.
Tijani added that ongoing interrogation uncovered the suspects’ involvement in a previous crime involving the abduction and killing of a female victim in November 2025.
He said the suspects reportedly kidnapped the lady, who was said to be romantically linked to one of them, and demanded ransom from her family.
Despite receiving a payment of N300,000, the suspects allegedly went ahead to kill the victim.
The police commissioner assured that the suspects would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
