A 15-year-old boy, Ahmed Sulaiman, has lost his life following a violent clash among teenagers over food in Gwangwan Village, Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred on the night of June 1, after a disagreement among a group of youths escalated into a physical confrontation.

According to information shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Wednesday, the altercation involved Ahmed and three other teenagers identified as Abdulaziz Garzali, 13, Amiru Sani, 15, and Habu Mani, 14.

Sources said the dispute began over food before degenerating into violence.

During the confrontation, Abdulaziz was alleged to have obtained a knife from Habu and used it to stab Ahmed, inflicting severe injuries on him.

The victim was immediately rushed to Rogo General Hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead while receiving care.

“The disagreement started over food and later turned violent. Abdulaziz allegedly collected a knife from Habu and stabbed Ahmed, causing fatal injuries,” Makama stated.

The incident was reported to security operatives by the village head of Gwangwan, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur, who alerted authorities after the fatal attack.

Police sources disclosed that the teenagers linked to the incident had been identified and were cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

The Kano State Police Command confirmed that an investigation was underway and assured residents that those found culpable would face appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.

The incident has sparked concern among residents of the community, with many calling for greater parental supervision and measures to curb youth violence.
