Suspected kidnappers on Monday night attacked Imafon Community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, reportedly killing one person and abducting two others, including a teacher identified as Mr. Durojaye Fagbonmire.
The incident has heightened anxiety among residents of the community and neighbouring settlements, as family members and community leaders continue to appeal for prayers and support towards securing the safe release of the victims.
According to information released by the management of Itaogbolu News Update, Fagbonmire was abducted while carrying out his duties as a teacher in the community.
The community group described the incident as tragic and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
As of the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding the attack remained unclear.
The identities of the second abducted victim and the person feared killed had yet to be officially confirmed.
