Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals over their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking syndicate operating in the country.
The arrests were carried out by operatives of the Anti-Narcotic Wing of the Indian Central Crime Branch, according to a report by The New Indian Express obtained on Wednesday.
The report stated that the suspects allegedly entered India on medical and tourist visas before becoming involved in the illegal drug trade.
Investigators alleged that the trio sourced the illicit substances from another Nigerian resident in Delhi before distributing them.
The suspects were identified as Ambemo Victor, 37; Chime Moses, 36; and Karikari Ames, 33.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to uncover other members of the alleged drug network and determine the full scope of its operations.
