Artisans, traders endorse Aiyedatiwa

Trade Associations and Artisan groups in Ondo State have declared their support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy.

The groups endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa during an interactive session with LACO FS at the Dome on Tuesday.

The State Director, LACO-FS Committee on Union and Artisans, Engr. Michael Adeyanju, stated that the significance of the gathering stemmed out of the first leg endorsement of Mr. Governor by the United Artisans Groups of Ondo State earlier in the month of March, 2024.

According to him, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s gesture to surprise the group with a Micro Credit Facility of N200,000,000 (Two hundred million) and the appointment of Engineer Komolafe as his SSA Artisan matters provoked the tradesmen, tradeswomen and artisans all over the State to further demonstrate their conviction in his leadership again by signing on with the Committee which already has the mandate of organizing and bringing into the LACO-FS fold, all Artisans and Unions across Ondo State and in all fields of human endeavour.

“You have shown humanity in the area of regular and prompt Salary payment, Wage Award, Leave Bonus now being paid as when due. Your magic wand in this respect is impressive, Your Excellency.

“The men and women that have enjoyed political appointments so far are equally round pegs in round holes. This no doubt has shown you as a man of depth and great vision.

“We have therefore come this day to openly associate with your lofty dreams and great ideas for a greater Ondo by officially telling everyone that Unions and Artisans in the state have endorsed His Excellency, Hon. Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa to continue as our Executive Governor for another four (4) year term of office”.

He stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure that Governor Aiyedatiwa is returned to lead the State for the next four years.

The co Convener, Prince Biyi Poroye appreciated the artisans and traders, noting that they have started work in the streets already.

He urged them not to relent in preaching about the gospel of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa reflected on the journey since the commencement of the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa administration in 2020. He emphasized the notable achievements made during this period, highlighting the elimination of outstanding salary payments, ongoing infrastructure improvements such as the filling of potholes, and the successful implementation of the “Operation Light Up Akure” initiative.

Acknowledging the collective efforts and support of the people, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the endorsement to continue serving as governor beyond 2025. He affirmed his commitment to tirelessly work towards the betterment of the state, echoing the determination of the populace for his return as governor in the upcoming February 2025 elections.
