The Ogun State Police Command said it had commenced investigation into an alleged assassination attempt on one Adebowale Emmanuel, a chief in the Iredo Community of Lagos State, in connection with a kingship dispute. Spokesperson of the State Police command, SP Omolola Odutola, who disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta, said the victim was travelling from Ijebu Ode to Ikorodu via the Ijebu-Ode-Epe expressway on Monday when some hoodlums, suspected to be assassins allegedly attempted to take his life. The Police Command in Katsina State said it foiled a kidnap attempt at Yan Shantuma village in the Danmusa Local Government Area of the state and rescued seven victims. The spokesman for the command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement in Katsina on Wednesday. The Police Command in Delta State said it killed a member of a kidnap syndicate and recovered the gang’s weapons. A 39-year-old man, Ajayi Olanrewaju, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Grade ‘A’ Customary Court over alleged N12 million fraud. Mr Olanrewaju, a car dealer whose address was not given, is being charged with fraud and stealing. Two men, Hammed Abdulrasheed and Abiodun Aluko, on Wednesday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N1.2 million.
