The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of students in public secondary schools in Ondo State due to unpaid debts, Peoples Gazette can report. These students were among the candidates who participated in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) across the state’s 18 local government areas. A lone accident at Malo, Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Tuesday left 12 people burnt to death, leaving four others sustaining injuries. The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Florence Okpe, confirmed the accident in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Tuesday. A12-year-old boy was on Tuesday brought before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stabbing two brothers. The defendant, who is of no fixed address, is standing trial on a three-count charge of assault, malicious damage and breach of the peace.
