Five persons on Tuesday appeared before a Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing drinks worth N11.2 million and receiving stolen property. The defendants; Steven Imaje; 18, Kelvin Ogbor; 23, Joseph Oloko; 27, Peter Ode; 26 and Bisi Yakub; 48. The first, second, third, and fourth defendants are facing the first two counts of conspiracy and stealing, while Yakub is being charged with receiving stolen property. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in Jigawa State has said about 100 families were displaced by flooding in Gantsa, headquarters of Buji Local Government Area. The World Health Organisation said cases of the infectious viral disease mpox are on the rise around the world, adding that it convened its emergency committee to discuss the outbreak. The Jos Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced a 40-year-old businessman, Ibrahim Kaye, to three months’ imprisonment over a threat to life.
