The Nigerian Bar Association, Aba branch in Abia State has said it will partner the police in re-training policemen in respecting human rights and handling investigations. The new Chairman of the branch, Charles Onuchukwu, gave the assurance during an interview in Aba on Wednesday. The police on Wednesday arraigned a 52-year old man, Taye Oni, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly receiving stolen motor vehicle parts. The defendant, whose address was not given, is being charged with receiving stolen property. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. Adetunji Obatayo, a 55-year-old pastor and school principal at the Deeper Life Bible Church, has been remanded in Akure Magistrates’ Family Court on charges of defiling a minor. It was discovered that his victim, a 14-year-old student, became pregnant, and he obtained an abortion for her.
