Suspected gunmen killed one person at an Ebonyi hotel on Sunday, a police spokesman in Ebonyi, DSP Joshua Ukandu, said on Monday. The hotel, located at Amovu in the Ishielu community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi, is reported to belong to the council chairman, Ikechukwu Odono and serves as his residence. “Several vehicles were set ablaze in the hotel by the gunmen during the attack,’’ Mr Ukandu said. A chief magistrates’ court in Kaduna on Thursday ordered the remand of two men in a correctional centre for allegedly stealing cables worth N975,000. The defendants, Francis Dogo, 27 and Aaron Amana, 28, both residents of Kakuri Kaduna, are standing trial for conspiracy and stealing. Four male kidnap victims regained their freedom from the den of abductors in Anambra on Friday as their captors fled when the police stormed their hideout. The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reiterated its readiness to reduce road crashes on the highway using radar gun technology.
