The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting has approved over ₦42 billion for the reconstruction of roads across five states in the insurgency-ravaged Northeast region. Some police officers have registered their displeasure over the Force Headquarters’ failure to pay their duty allowance for the coverage of the Osun governorship election, 38 days after the election. The officers who spoke, anonymously, to reporters in Osogbo, stated that about 140 officers from the State Investigation Bureau (SIB), 30 from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and about 160 mobile police officers of MOPOL 39 had not been paid. Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has announced new regulations on baggage for its domestic and regional flights. In a flyer obtained by our correspondent, the airline noted that with effect from September 1, baggage allowance on domestic flights would be 15 kilogram for economy class while that of business class would be 30 kilogram. It added that N1000 per kg would be charged on baggage exceeding the specified weight, which would be paid at the airport. Six persons on Tuesday lost their lives in a fatal road accident which occurred in Ajue on the Ondo-Ore road in Ondo state.
