Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has dismissed report of plot to impose candidates of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the State for next year’s general elections. A non-governmental organization, Positive Solutions to Greatness Foundation has stressed the need for quality education for pupils at the primary level. The foundation’s team leader, Mrs Shade Ogunsuyi who said this during a visit to Ebenezer African Church Primary School, Akure noted that the foundation is passionate towards facilitating access to quality education. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved over N2billion for the procurement of operational vehicles by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this to State House correspondents after the virtual FEC meeting, which was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced a two-week strike, following the alleged failure of the Federal Government to meet its demands as contained in the Memorandum of Action (MoA) signed last year. Vehicular activities were, yesterday, disrupted on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, by Ogun students protesting the three months extension of the strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. The students, under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Ogun State Joint Campus Committee, stormed the Obada axis of the highway with placards, chanting anti-government songs.
