A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Thursday sentenced a 35 year-old trader, Samaila Salisu to a year imprisonment for illegal possession of firearms. The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the defendant after he pleaded guilty to the charge. The magistrate, however, gave the convict an option to pay N20, 000 or spend one year in prison.
