The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Adamu, has filed 20 grounds of appeal at the Supreme Court to challenge the judgement that voided the recruitment of 10,000 constables by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, last year. The IGP, the NPF and Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, through their lawyer, Dr. Alex Izinyon, SAN, urged the apex court to set-aside a judgment the Abuja Division of the  Court of Appeal delivered on September 30, which invalidated the recruitment process. Nigerian Army has debunked claim in the social media that this year’s military exercise of Operation Crocodile Smile VI is targeted at the ‘EndSARS’ protesters. The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Sunday, revealed the requirements of officers to be trained in the new police tactical team to replace the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad. He said the training of selected officers for the Special Weapons and Tactics team would commence on Monday, October 19, 2020. Major streets in Akure, the Ondo State capital, have been defaced by heaps of refuse following the commencement of a strike by waste collectors over an alleged N130m debt owed by the state government. It was gathered that the private companies handling waste disposal and management stopped operations pending payment of the money.
