Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf announced today that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II has been reinstated as the Emir of Kano. According to Leadership Newspaper, this comes after the Kano State House of Assembly passed a resolution to dethrone the current Emir and dismantle the four new Emirates established in 2019. Sanusi II was deposed as the Emir of Kano in 2020. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a farmer, Abraham Achibong, in Ondo for allegedly molesting his daughter. Mr Achibong, 40, was apprehended raping his 14-year-old daughter (name withheld). The Ondo commandant of the NSCDC, Ibiloye Oluyemi, paraded the suspect along with two other suspects before journalists in Akure said Mr Achibong was arrested following complaints. An Ikeja Special Offences Court, on Wednesday, reserved judgement until September in the case of an American, Marco Antonio-Ramirez, charged with $1.2 million fraud. Justice Mojisola Dada will also, on September 10, deliver judgement in another charge bordering on $368,698 fraud against the same Mr Antonio-Ramirez.
