Police authorities in Borno State have retrieved gold valued at over N23.6 million, reportedly buried by a woman in Mallamfatori, Abadam Local Government Area, during a Boko Haram attack 15 years ago. The woman, who fled the town at the height of insurgent raids, returned recently and sought police assistance to recover the valuables she had concealed before escaping.
