The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it will investigate the scarcity of funds witnessed by customers in most Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Lagos State. The CBN‘s Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Mr Osita Nwanisobi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday, that ATMs were introduced so as to ease the sufferings of the people. The total amount of foreign exchange inflow into the economy in the third quarter of 2020 stood at $21.46 billion, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The CBN, in its third quarter economic report, a copy of which newsmen obtained yesterday, however, said aggregate forex inflow to the economy declined by 2.2 per cent and 30.4 per cent below $21.95 billion and $30.83 billion in the preceding quarter and corresponding quarter of 2019, respectively. The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) on Wednesday “conditionally” suspended its strike, ending a protracted industrial action that started since March 2020.
