The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar, said plans have been concluded for the deployment of a special mission aircraft to Benin, to secure the maritime environment. The Minister of Aviation, Mr Hadi Sirika, says the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu is ready for resumption of flights. Sirika said this on Saturday in Enugu after the final round of inspection of rehabilitation works in the airport prior to the official reopening of the complex. The Federal Government had in August 2019 shut down Akanu Ibiam International Airport over security reasons. The dispensing of autogas into automobiles through selected filling stations across the country will commence by the end of September, the Federal Government has said. It was gathered that autogas to be dispensed into automobiles and other prime movers include Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Compressed Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas, depending on the type of vehicle. Four persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that involved one tanker, one truck, and six motorcycles at Ikare, Akoko North-East local government. The accident was said to have occurred opposite Okorun Police station, Ikare. Among the dead were a pregnant woman and her two children. Several persons were seriously injured in the accident.
