JOHN Enenche, Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations,  says three Nigerian soldiers died after sustaining injuries when Boko Haram (BHT)/Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP)  fighters on Tuesday attacked troops’ location in Kukawa town in Borno State. Enenche, a Brigadier General who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said the attack was vehemently thwarted. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved a variation of N3.9billion for the completion of federal secretariat projects in Anambra, Bayelsa, Nasarawa, Zamfara and Osun states. Oil prices fell on Thursday as major producers warned of a risk to demand recovery if the coronavirus crisis is prolonged as U.S. crude inventories dropped less than expected. Brent crude was down 36 cents, or 0.8 per cent at $45.01 a barrel by 0442 GMT, having slipped 0.2 per cent in the previous session. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, says he had not been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the probe of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Barely  24 hours after seven persons were badly injured in an attack at the secretariat of the Social Democratic Party in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, at least three persons have also been attacked by armed thugs. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the Federal Government to pay arrears of withheld salaries of its members to pave way for further discussions on the outstanding issues of 2019 Memorandum of Action.
