President Muhammadu Buhari has named train stations along the Lagos-Ibadan and the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri corridors after “deserving Nigerians”, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said. Presidency aide, Tolu Ogunlesi, revealed this on Monday in a tweet. According to Ogunlesi, the Apapa station was named after Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while the Agege station was conferred on the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Alhaji Sabiu Bello Abubakar and Mr Oba Olufemi Oluniyi fca as Deputy Commissioners for Insurance, National Insurance Commission, (NAICOM). A statement from a deputy director in the Office of the Commissioner for Insurance, ‘Rasaq Abdulsalam, on Monday morning, explained that while Abubakar is the Deputy Commissioner, Technical, Mr Oba will serve as the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration (F&A) in the Commission. The Federal Government has extended the N-Power batch C online application by two weeks. The online application process, which began on June 26, 2020, was scheduled to close on Sunday, July 26, 2020. The Federal Government explained the extension will afford interested youths the opportunity to also register. It also said the number of applications received so far indicates enthusiasm on the part of the applicants to be part of the programme.
