The National Identity Management Commission on Monday announced that it had registered about 900 repentant Boko Haram members. According to the commission, reliable and secured data of repentant and reintegrated members of Boko Haram were provided by the NIMC through the Operation Safe Corridor Advisory Committee. Multiple airstrikes by the Air Component of the Operation Hadarin Daji have destroyed bandits’ camps located in a forest along the Katsina, Zamfara states boundary area, the Nigerian Military has disclosed. Scores of the bandits were also neutralised in the attack which were conducted under the subsidiary Operation Accord. A statement by the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, revealed that the attack followed series of intelligence which indicated that some cluster of huts in the target area were used as mini-camp by the bandits. The 20th Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission for the year 2020 into public universities. The meeting held virtually, on Tuesday, also approved 140 as minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination score for admission into private universities. For public polytechnic, 120 UTME score was approved, while 100 was approved for Colleges of Education, innovative enterprises and institutes. During the meeting, JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, urged tertiary institution heads not to increase admission screening charges above N2000.

The immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has remained Covid-19 positive two weeks after being admitted at the First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos. Ajimobi’s wife, Florence, was however, discharged from hospital earlier. German top government official, Helge Braun, on Tuesday, said the country’s coronavirus contact tracing app that had been made available for download in Germany was a cut above the rest. A retired soldier, Sapper Olusegun Soetan, has lamented that he and his colleagues from the South-West have not been paid their pensions after fighting in the 1967-1970 civil war. The Federal Government on Monday warned state governments that were planning to reopen schools to drop the plan. The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and  Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, gave the warning during the PTF press briefing in Abuja. The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu,  on Monday, ordered the release of the security aides to the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, four days after they were taken into custody over a shooting incident at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
