The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said the number of confirmed Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Africa has risen to over 175, 000. The WHO Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, gave the update on Saturday on its official Twitter handle @WHOAFRO. “There are over 175,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent – with more than 77,000 recoveries and 4,800 deaths,’’ it said. Ondo State Government yesterday said it might be forced to lock down the state again if the number of COVID-19 cases kept increasing.
