Army Troops Dislodge Boko Haram From Sambisa Forest Camps

 

Troops of Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Multinational Joint Task Force have successfully dislodged hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists from more than half of their operational camps within the Sambisa forest.

A reliable military source at the Theatre Command in Maiduguri informed that the troops of Nigerian Army and MNJTF have successfully overran most of the terrorists operational camps in Kwalaram, Ngilewa, Sabon Tumbu, Bukarmairam, Wulgo that were located in the Marte and Gamboru Ngala axis of Borno State.

Other camps of the insurgents that have also been brutally overran by Nigerian military include Durfada, Allafha, Timbuktu, Bulajibi and Gonikurmi which were in and around Sambisa. Other operational bases of the insurgents that have also been raided by troops include Mattari, Mada, Sansan and Gurzum.
The source also revealed that the new locations where scores of ISWAP fighters that recently escaped from Chadian troops have been located and subsequently bombarded at Marte-Dikwa by Nigeria Air Force.

According to the Coordinator of Defence Military Operations, Major General John Enenche, series of air raids by Nigerian Air Force on the locations of Boko Haram terrorists have led to the destruction of several logistics facilities and compounds of the terror gang which used to house some of their leaders like Abu Usamah and a large number of their fighters.

In addition, verifiable independent sources have also concluded that
the casualty figure from the multiple air raids in last few weeks was well above 500. The figure indicated that the earlier figure of 346 casualties by the military may have been erroneous
underestimated. It was further gathered that not less than 60 war commanders of the terrorists have also been killed in the multiple air raids. This figure was also at variance with 18 that was earlier reported by the military.

Another source within the Theatre Command in Maiduguri has also made it known that the physical presence of the Chief of Army Staff at the front line, in addition to the newly inducted equipment have combined to turn the heat on Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters alongside their online apologists and sympathizers.

It was also gathered from the Theatre Command in Maiduguri that Nigerian Army troops under the firm supervision of Lt. General Burutai have stepped up the deployment of boots, ground and amphibious assets to support the operation in Lake Chad- Timbuktu triangle. It was also confirmed that Nigerian Army recently took delivery of heavy and light capability equipment from China to further aid the demolition of the insurgents.

Meanwhile, the recently released audio message by Abubakar Shekau has confirmed series of intensified pounding of the insurgents through air raids and artillery fire of the ground troops. The combined and sustained assaults have led to the killing of hundreds of terrorists within Alagarno and Sambisa forests.

The message of Shekau was concluded to have mirrored the bloody nose that the insurgents have been receiving lately at the war front. The most wanted Abubakar Shekau however described the sustained assault on the insurgents as a period of trial and urged his fighters not to relent in prayers.
