A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Engr. Ife Oyedele has said when elected Governor of the State his government will make healthcare delivery free for children from age 0-7, while education will also be free from primary school up to the Junior Secondary School level.

Oyedele said workplaces will be made comfortable for women as his government will establish, by executive order, a creche in every government establishment while companies who employ certain number of women will be made to comply to the order.

Oyedele made this known in his commemorative message made availblble to the press by his media aide, Yomi Adebayo, on this year’s Children’s Day celebration and said Children deserve unhindered governmental and parental attention for societal building.

The governorship aspirant said “the greatest asset of Nigeria as a Nation is in her people and particularly the younger population who hold the key to the future of any Nation”. He added that the greatest damage a Nation can do to herself is not paying utmost attention to child healthcare and education.

The governorship hopeful said:

“Children are a great asset to nation building. A future fair to all, as our campaign slogan implies, is totally unachievable unless the children, who are going to be the real owner of that future are adequately factored into the planning. The greatest gift we can give to them are qualitative free education and free healthcare delivery” Oyedele said.

Oyedele also enjoined parents to take up all sense of commitment and responsibility to be good models for their children, saying children are the mirrored image of their parents.

“Children’s character are largely formed by the attitude of parents. As first teachers to our kids, it is important that we display unparalleled level of integrity and commitment to excellence. We must teach our children to be diligent and possess impeccable character”, He said.

“One of the finest Yoruba adage says a child not well trained will eventually sell off the family’s heritage. This is as the same as the popular saying that charity begins at home”.

The governorship hopeful said a society that desires sustainable growth must pay unbridled attention to child education and healthcare, saying it is through them that the future of a society is secured.
