What would have been a massive overnight killings of innocent people in Kasai and Nahuta villages of Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina was averted on Friday by the Army troops of the deployed 35 Battalion and the local vigilantes.

It was reliably gathered from a credible military source that armed bandits came to Kasai and Nahuta villages in Katsina State to avenge their colleagues that are being killed in the ongoing air bombardments and ground assaults by troops of Air Task Force and Nigerian Army. It was also gathered that the bandits made effort to attack the two villages because the villagers have been giving credible human intelligence to the Military on the movements and activities of the criminals.

It was further revealed that the troops successfully repelled the bandits as some of them hurriedly returned to their forest hideouts in disarray. It was also gathered that some of the bandits sustained fatal gunshot injuries. However, one person in each of the two villages were reported to have been killed by the bandits before the arrival of army troops.

The source also reliably informed that peace and normalcy have since been returned to the two villages as as military vehicles were seen on Saturday morning patrolling the general area.
