Army troops of Operation Accord have killed a kidnapper while several others escaped with gunshot wounds in Garin Arawa of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Monday, November 16, 2020 following credible intelligence on activities of criminal elements in the area.

According to a Press Release made available on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 by the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, Major General John Eneche, it was stated that the troops also recovered one AK47 rifle, one magazine and one motorcycle during the operation. Troops were said to have mobilized to the village and made contact with the kidnappers after they were alerted on the activities of the kidnappers.

Also, troops deployed at Jibia have arrested two suspected kidnappers named Malam Ismail Isah and Malam Sale Samaila at Tsembe Kolumbo village in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The arrested suspects are currently being held in custody for further investigation.

Relatedly, another suspected bandit, Bello Ardo from Yargoje town in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State has also been arrested on November 16, 2020 by the gallant troops. The suspect is also being held in custody undergoing investigation.

Similarly, the superior firepower of troops deployed at Dungun Muazu have forced robbers to escape into the bush after receiving a distress call from motorists along Tashan Bawa-Kuyelo road. The troops had swiftly responded and made contact with suspected bandits that had barricaded the road in an attempt to rob road users.

Meanwhile, the gallant troops have continued to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols to deny bandits of action freedom. Moreso, normalcy has since been restored to the general area. Also, Armed Forces of Nigeria have assured that it would not relent until enemies of the nation are neutralised and normalcy is fully restored to all troubled zones.
